A Faith That Sings! End of Summer Concert and Party, featuring Catholic musician Andrea Thomas, will take place Saturday, Aug. 9, beginning at 7:00pm at St. Hyacinth’s Church, 4500 West Hills Trail.
The concert is the final event in the 2014 St. Hyacinth’s Speaker’s Series, according to parishioner Joe Tepera.
“Andrea Thomas is a rising star in Catholic music,” said St. Hyacinth’s pastor Father Jim Schmitmeyer. “She is best known for her work with country singer Colin Raye. She will be performing numerous songs from her album Crying Out to You.”
Thomas will perform in concert at 7:00pm, followed by a summertime party under a tent on the church lawn.
“We’ll have free ice cream, snow cones, watermelon and cookies for everyone,” Father Schmitmeyer said. “Everyone will also have an opportunity to visit with Andrea Thomas.”
A native of Cincinnati, Andrea Thomas studied music at Belmont University in Nashville. She participated in the Veggietales Rockin’ Tour Live! in 2006 and, as the lead, toured to 50 cities throughout the United States and Canada.
It was during her travels that Thomas felt a new calling, and in the fall of 2006 she enrolled at Franciscan University near Pittsburgh where she finished her degree in Theology, Finance and Marketing.
Thomas debuted with multi-platinum country star Colin Raye on his first inspiration album, His Love Remains. She released her first album, Crying Out to You, on Dec. 8, 2011.
Cost of the evening is $10.00 per person, free to those twelve and under, according to Father Schmitmeyer. For additional information, call St. Hyacinth’s Church at 358-1351.
