The Development and Stewardship Office of the Diocese of Amarillo is encouraging all diocesan entities and Catholic businesses to purchase religious calendars from the Catholic Church Extension Society for 2012. “Every year, supporters of the Catholic Church Extension Society Parish Calendar provide funds to mission dioceses in under-resourced and isolated communities all across America,” said Extension president Father Jack Wall.

Anyone with a child in college knows how expensive that can be. For 11 years, she’s been a mainstay in the diocesan office of Development and Stewardship, assisting parishes in the annual United Catholic Appeal and helping to maintain order amidst all the paperwork generated for requesting grants. On Wednesday, Dec. 1, Gladys Meyer will put all of that behind her and sleep in, thus beginning the next chapter of her life.
