Youth Ministry
We, the Diocesan Youth Office pledge and commit ourselves to be joyful messengers of the Good News of our salvation. Mindful that “the witness of a Christian life is the first and irreplaceable form of mission.” (Redemptoris Missio, 42)
Therefore we will:
- Have a Eucharistic mentality.
- Move beyond ourselves to minister to others by sharing our individual time, talent, and treasure with all those in need.
- Be truly open to the spiritual, social, emotional and educational needs of young people.
Functions & Services Provided by the Office of Youth Ministry
- Assist in the Faith Formation of youth group/CCD at parish site through Covenant Teen (on availability bases only)
- Scheduling/Facilitated retreats by the R.E.A.C.H Team in various parishes in the diocese
- Junior and/or High school cluster mini-retreats through the CYMN
- Youth ACTS retreats
- An annual junior and high school youth rally
- An annual summer Steubenville Youth Conference
- A bi-annual trip to the Regional X Youth Conference
- A bi-annual trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference
- A trip to the World Youth Day event
- Leadership training for 13 year and older teens through Covenant Teen
- Offers on site training in parishes as requested
- Offers Youth Ministers/DRE/Core trainings for cluster areas as requested
- Offers Youth Ministry Self-Evaluations assistance as requested
- 3 times a year Youth Ministers workshops
- A annual Youth Ministry/DRE/CORE retreat
