The first of seven scheduled opportunities to take the course on The Liturgy/La Liturgia will be offered Saturday, Oct. 1, according to Sister María Elena Ferrer, SSND, coordinator of the Diocesan Office of Faith Formation.
The Diocesan Youth Office and the Office of Faith Formation has begun a series of meetings throughout the Diocese of Amarillo, which are designed to meet with parishioners who are evangelizing and catechizing children and youth.
The seventh annual Diocesan Faith Formation Conference for all parish leaders, catechists, Catholic school teachers, lectors, RCIA leaders, parents and all involved in parish ministry will take place Saturday, Aug. 6 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 South Washington.
Catechists who missed out on the opportunity to attend The Liturgy/La Liturgia course, last offered in the Spring of 2012, will have one more chance to take the course Saturday, July 9 from 9:30am to 12:30pm at St. Francis Convent, 4301 NE 18th, east of the Diocesan Pastoral Center.
The Diocese of Amarillo is once again offering adults who have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation the opportunity to prepare for the reception of the Sacrament, according to Sister María Elena Ferrer, SSND, director of the Diocesan Office of Faith Formation.
Bishop Patrick J. Zurek will celebrate the Rite of Election and the Rite Call to Continuing Conversion Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2:30pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 South Washington. “These are special rites that invite catechumens and candidates to a celebration of their individual calls to know Jesus in a very profound way,” said Sister Janet M. Abbacchi.
