Fundraiser for Catholic Radio Sponsored by Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus in the Diocese of Amarillo are sponsoring a fundraiser for Catholic Radio, with the opportunity to win one of four prize packages to be given away in June.

“The fundraiser will support the needs and programs of Catholic Radio of the High Plains Radio Ministries,” said Dale Artho of St. Valentine Catholic Radio.

Catholic Radio of the Texas High Plains Radio Ministries is an outreach of St. Valentine Catholic Radio, Holy Family Church in Nazareth and St. John Nepomucene Church in Hart to build, maintain and promote the Catholic Faith through the medium of radio.

“Our goal is to generate funds to build two new Low Power FM (LPFM) radio stations and to reduce the upgrade debt for St. Valentine Catholic Radio,” added Artho. “The purpose of the LPFM’s is to provide EWTN Catholic radio coverage in English to listeners in the Nazareth area and in Spanish to listeners in the Hart area.”

A ticket for the fundraiser can be purchased with a $25 donation or five tickets can be obtained for a $100 donation from any Knights of Columbus member in the Diocese of Amarillo.

Prize Package number one is a Sportsman Package, which includes a Guided Pheasant Hunt sponsored by Immaculate Conception Church, Vega; a gun; and, a YETI Tundra 45” ice chest. The winner of this package, with an estimated value of $1,200, must be able to transfer the weapon.

Prize Package number two is a Sportsman Package, which includes a Guided Pheasant Hunt sponsored by Immaculate Conception Church, Vega; a shotgun; and, a YETI Tundra 45” Ice Chest. The winner of this package, with an estimated value of $1,200, must be able to transfer the weapon.

Prize Package number three is a Get Away Adventure. The winner of Prize Package will receive a $1,000 gift certificate at Ojo Caliente Resort and Spa in New Mexico. The package also includes a $200 Expense Card. Estimated value of Prize Package number three is $1,200.

Prize Package number four is a package for those who love to grill. The prize is a 27” Tiernan-Solaire Infrared Grill, a top of the line grill. Estimated value of prize package number four is $2,400.

Drawings for the Prize Packages will take place during the month of June on The West Texas Catholic: The Audio Version, which airs live on Fridays from noon to 1:00pm on St. Valentine Catholic Radio, 1360AM, KDJW.

“We’ll draw for a different Prize Package every Friday during the program,” said Artho. “The Sportsman Packages winners will be drawn on Friday, June 6 and Friday, June 13. The winner of the Get Away Adventure will be drawn on Friday, June 20 and the winner of the grill will be drawn on Friday, June 27.
