Amarillo—Volunteers are being sought for the second of two Kolbe Prison Retreats set for Thursday, March 23 through Saturday, March 25 at the Neal Unit, according to Deacon Jessie Guerrero, diocesan Prison Ministry Coordinator.
Deacon Guerrero is seeking the support of 30 men from the Knights of Columbus, the ACTS Community and the Cursillo Movement to make these retreats possible.
“We are asking for volunteers for these retreats and any assistance to this ministry will be greatly appreciated,” he said.
The first Kolbe Prison Retreat took place in January, with the Hill Country Kolbe Team assisting the volunteers from the Diocese of Amarillo at the Clements Unit. This team brought their own supplies and equipment needed to conduct the retreat. Amarillo Kolbe Core is now in the process of purchasing startup equipment and supplies needed. This team pays for the food and handouts given for the retreats, but the Core needs assistance in acquiring these necessary items.
