Our diocesan seminarians gathered this week at Ute Lake in New Mexico to spend time together before departing to their respective seminaries for the fall semester. This opportunity is usually the only time that our seminarians will all be gathered together.
Steve Brorman, from Dalhart, kindly offered the use of his house on Ute Lake. The young men had the opportunity for relaxing, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, and swimming. The weekend was not all fun and games though. All of the seminarians were trained in Safe Environment, and updated and informed of the Diocesan Seminarian Policies and Procedures.
"It was great being able to get instructions and guidance on what is means to be a seminarian," said Deacon Arthur Rodriguez. "I also enjoyed the opportunity to visit with Fr. Scott and Bishop Zurek."
Bishop Zurek spent two of the three days with our seminarians on Ute Lake, and the men took advantage of the opportunity to "hang out" with their Bishop.
Please keep our seminarians in your prayers as they prepare to begin another year of formation on their journey to become a Diocesan Priest.
