Parents may want to prepare a table (altarcito/a little altar) with a crucifix, or an image of Our Lady, some holy water, flowers and a candle (If you have the Baptismal candle you may want to use it at this time.)

NOTE: If the Sponsor is not available, the part of the Sponsor can be done by the parent/guardian

Parent(s):      (name of Confirmand ….) You have been baptized in Christ, you receive the Lord in Holy Communion regularly and now you long to receive the Holy Spirit to be your helper and guide.  With our prayer today we’ll remember the day of your Baptism and pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

2. Sponsor:       I sign you with the cross on your ears.

3. Sponsor:       I sign you with the cross on your eyes. 

4. Sponsor:       I sign you with the cross on your lips.

            Confirmand: By my Baptism I was born again in Christ and have become member of Christ and of his priestly people.  Now I am preparing to share in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us.  I acknowledge that the promised strength of the Holy Spirit will make me more like Christ and help me be witness to his suffering, death, and resurrection and thus, I accept that this gift will strengthen me to be active member of the Catholic Church and to build up the Body of Christ in faith and love. Amen.
