All women in the Diocese of Amarillo are invited to take part in the inaugural Women’s Conference, set for Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at 8:30am at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 South Washington.
The theme of the conference is The Way of The Bride, according to Stephanie Frausto, director of Respect Life Ministries for the Diocese of Amarillo.
“The day will be a reflection on the Interior Life, featuring the Seven Stages of Divine Romance,” she said.
The keynote speaker for the conference will be Rose Sweet, a nationally known Catholic author and speaker, based in Palm Desert, Calif., outside of Los Angeles. She has made numerous appearances on EWTN, Relevant Radio and other media outlets.
“Rose Sweet will bring wit and wisdom to our conference,” said Frausto. “She is all about relationships and she will discuss how we can take Catholic moral teachings and put them into real-life practice.
“When we forget we already have God’s love, we will have problems in other relationships. Rose incorporates Theology of the Body principles into all of her topics and is faithful to the teaching Magisterium of the Catholic Church.”
Topics scheduled to be discussed include The Four Levels of Happiness, The Three False Loves and The Seven Stages of Divine Romance.
“This conference is a combination of workshop and retreat with formation sessions, group sharing and activities,” said Frausto. “There will be quiet time for prayer and reflection. We encourage everyone attending to please bring their Bibles.”
Cost of the conference is $30.00 per person, which includes conference materials and lunch. Scholarships are available. Conference attendees will have the option of going to Confession at 4:00pm. The conference will end with Mass at 5:30.
