Amarillo—The 65th annual Smorgasbord at St. Joseph’s Church is scheduled Sunday, Feb. 13 from 11:00am to 3:00pm in the St. Joseph’s School cafeteria at 4114 South Bonham.
Tickets for the all-you-can-eat meal are $15.00 for adults and $7.00 for children ages five to ten. Children four and under eat free, according to parish spokesperson Emily Sanchez. Takeouts will be available.
The Smorgasbord features the famous St. Joseph’s Swedish Meatballs, ham, turkey, all the fixings and a variety of desserts. There will also be an individual drawing for a 55” TV, a King size quilt, a Nintendo Switch and a $250 gift card.
There will be a Silent Auction, which will feature a Coach purse, a framed print from The Chosen series of Christ embracing Mary Magdalene titled You Are Mine. There will also be several Jack Sorensen prints, Valentine baskets and many other items. A Country Store with homemade baked goods will be available during Smorgasbord.
“We will offer the options for takeout or dine-in,” said Sanchez. “While waiting for takeout, we invite everyone to come inside the cafeteria and view our Silent Auction items and visit our Country store. We will have vases of flowers and table decorations for sale to give to your special person for Valentine's Day. Once again this year, we will be selling frozen Swedish Meatballs and we encourage you to purchase plenty for your party to enjoy the big game later that evening. These meatballs are without sauce, so you can put your own secret sauce on them, which is sure to be a hit, with no penalties.”
