Assignments Affect Five Priests

Amarillo—Assignments affecting five priests were announced Oct. 7 by Bishop Patrick J. Zurek.
 
Father César Gómez, Parochial Vicar at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Amarillo, since Sept. 5, 2015, has been named Parochial Administrator of St. Joseph’s Church, Stratford and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Cactus.
 
Father Eduardo Carlos Castro, Parochial Administrator in Stratford and Cactus, has been recalled by his religious superiors for reassignment.
 
Crusaders of the Holy Spirit priest Father Jose Ramon Molina Mora has been named Parochial Administrator of San Jose Church and Mission, Hereford.
 
Crusaders of the Holy Spirit priest Father Henry Wilson Rodriguez Echavarria will reside at San Jose Church and Mission, Hereford.
 
Father Juan Carlos Barragán has been assigned to minister to the Spanish-speaking of the Diocese of Amarillo.
 
Father Gomez, 52, was ordained to the priesthood on March 19, 1998 in Bógota, Colómbia. Prior to arriving in the Diocese of Amarillo, he served at parishes in Queens and in Delaware.
 
Father Castro, 42, was ordained to the priesthood June 22, 2001 at Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico. He has been Parochial Administrator in Stratford and Cactus since June 2, 2010.
 
Father Mora, who will turn 42 on Sunday, Nov. 13, was ordained to the priesthood on Dec. 21, 2002 at San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Argentina. He has served in a variety of ministries in the Archdiocese of Calabozo, Guárrico, Venezuela.
 
Father Barragán, 49, was ordained to the priesthood May 31, 1997 by then-Bishop John W. Yanta. He will reside at Church of the Holy Spirit, Tulia.
