Amarillo—The 20th Bilingual Living Way of the Cross (Via Crucis), presented by St. Laurence Church, will take place at 3:00pm on Good Friday, April 18, according to Father Haider Quintero, pastor.
Activities will begin with a procession in front of the Capuchin Monastery, at 4201 NE 18th Street. Parishioners from St. Laurence will interpret the different roles. From the Capuchin Monastery, the procession will move westward on NE 18th Street, turning north on Hill Street, then east on NE 22nd Street before concluding at St. Laurence Church, 2300 North Spring.
“This is a powerful event that tells the story of the Triduum,” said Father Quintero. “The Living Stations of the Cross is a great production that takes lots of effort and rehearsal by so many of our parishioners to represent the last moments in the life of our Savior. It is not only a representation but also an inspiration that invites and moves us to pray by contemplating the passion and the sacrifice of Christ for our salvation. I understand St. Laurence is the only parish in the diocese that has a Living Way of the Cross. We encourage everyone in the Diocese of Amarillo to make plans to join us and participate.”
