The third annual Bishop’s Gala took place May 2 at Amarillo Country Club, with more than 200 people in attendance.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the establishment of a Parish Maintenance Fund in the Diocese of Amarillo, according to Kim Richard, Diocesan Director of Development and Stewardship.
“This fund will provide financial help to smaller parishes for unexpected repairs that from time to time may occur,” she said.
Bishop Patrick J. Zurek offered after dinner comments about his experience in Rome during the Canonization Mass for Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul II (see additional story, pages 1-3)
Other activities include a live auction, a game of Heads or Tails, a dance and fun-only casino tables. Winner of the Heads of Tails was Argelia Alaniz from Hereford.
Richard has announced that the fourth annual Bishop’s Gala is scheduled Friday, May 8, once again at Amarillo Country Club.
