Deanery Confirmation Masses Continue Saturday, April 30

Amarillo—The second of five Deanery Confirmation Masses in the Diocese of Amarillo will take place Saturday, April 30 at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1200 South Washington.
 
In an interview in the Dec. 6, 2015 edition of The West Texas Catholic, Bishop Patrick J. Zurek announced that these Confirmation Masses will take place by Deanery and the people of the Deanery will come to the Cathedral.
 
“We want to emphasize the importance of the Cathedral in the diocese and the beauty of the Holy Door, the Door of Mercy,” he said. “It will remind us concretely as we walk through the Holy Door that we all are called to be merciful. They will be incredible celebrations and will allow the young people to see how many are being confirmed in their deanery.
 
“Adult Confirmation Candidates will join the youth of their respective Deanery for their confirmation.”
 
Confirmation Masses will be celebrated at 10:30am:
 
• Saturday, April 30, for the South Deanery. This Mass will be for parishioners at these parishes:
• St. Ann’s, Bovina;
• Immaculate Conception, Dimmitt;
• St. Teresa of Jesus, Friona;
• Holy Name of Jesus, Happy;
• St. John Nepomucene, Hart
• St. Anthony’s, Hereford;
• San Jose, Hereford;
• St. Paul the Apostle, Kress;
• Holy Family, Nazareth;
• St. Juan Diego, Quitaque;
• Our Lady of Loreto, Silverton;
• Church of the Holy Spirit, Tulia;
• St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Turkey; and,
• St. Mary’s, Umbarger.
 
• Saturday, May 7, the second of two Masses for the Central Deanery. This Mass will be for parishioners at these parishes:
 • St. Lawrence, Amarillo
• St. Thomas the Apostle, Amarillo;
• St. Ann’s, Canyon; and,
• Immaculate Conception, Vega.
 
• Saturday, May 14, for the East Deanery. This Mass will be for parishioners at these parishes:
• Sacred Heart, Canadian;
• Holy Angels, Childress;
• St. Mary’s, Clarendon;
• Immaculate Heart of Mary, Groom;
• Sacred Heart, Memphis;
• St. Vincent de Paul, Pampa;
• St. Theresa’s, Panhandle;
• St. Patrick’s, Shamrock;
• Our Mother of Mercy, Wellington;
• St. Mary’s, Wheeler; and,
• Sacred Heart, White Deer.
 
• Saturday, May 21, for the North Deanery. This Mass will be for parishioners at these parishes:

• Our Lady of Guadalupe, Cactus;

• Sts. Peter and Paul, Dumas;
