Ellettsville, IN —Father Norbert J. Kieferle, who served the Diocese of Amarillo from 1988 to 1999, passed away Dec. 20. He was 76 years old.
Mass was celebrated Jan. 2, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, New Berlin, Wisc.
Norbert J. Kieferle was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 19, 1939, the oldest of three children born to Norbert and Marie Kieferle. He graduated from Don Bosco High School (now St. Thomas More High School) in 1957. Father Kieferle was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on May 28, 1966.
Father Kieferle arrived in the Diocese of Amarillo in the summer of 1988 and served at St. Joseph’s Church, Amarillo; Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Spearman; Cristo Redentor Church, Gruver; St. Patrick’s Church, Shamrock; Our Mother of Mercy Church, Wellington; St. Laurence Cathedral (now St. Laurence Church), Amarillo; and the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital, Amarillo.
Survivors include two sisters, Judith Meier and Marilyn Soiney and her husband Sid; numerous nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew; numerous cousins and many friends.
