Amarillo—A Comprehensive Youth Ministry 101 training session will be offered Saturday, Aug. 10, according to Diocesan Youth Director Oscar Guzman.
Those who are contact people to the Diocesan Youth Office are highly recommended to attend this meeting, and if possible, to bring the full core team from their parish as well, according to Guzman.
The session at St. Anthony's Church at 115 N.25 Mile Ave. in Hereford is scheduled from 10:00am to 5:00pm. There is no cost for the training and attendees are responsible for their own lunch.
“This workshop helps parish leaders come to a fuller understanding of comprehensive youth ministry as outlined in Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry (USCCB, 1997). The workshop explores the ways that a parish can effectively minister to young people within the context of the parish, including the family and wider community,” said Guzman.
The workshop is open to all adults ministering with youth in grades seven through twelve, including pastors and associate pastors, deacons, youth ministry coordinators, prospective youth minister leaders, directors of Religious Education, youth ministry teams, youth ministry leaders and volunteers.
“If you’ve already attended this training in the past, I encourage you to do so again,” Guzman said. “This is a great refresher and will help your parish and all new youth ministers work as one.”
Guzman added that Online Training will be open, beginning Thursday, Sept. 5 and continuing through Monday, Sept. 30.
