Amarillo—Holy Cross Catholic Academy will present its annual Remembrance Day Program Monday, Nov. 11 at 10:00am in the HCCA Event Center at 4102 South Bonham, according to HCCA faculty member Donna Kerr.
“Our Middle School drama students will lead this year’s program, to honor past and present military personnel,” she said. “We invite the Holy Cross community to send us the names of their military family members and friends. We will honor them by reading their names, branch, rank and dates of service, and by showing any available photos that are provided.” Kerr added that the school is honored to recognize all veterans, regardless of whether they are Catholic or attended any Catholic educational institutions.
“The HCCA National Honor Society also wishes to add a Military Honor Wall to the school to honor all military personnel who attended St. George’s, Price College Memorial High School, St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Alamo Catholic High School or Holy Cross Catholic Academy,” she said. “This includes individuals who served during World War II, the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom and all United Nations and Allied encounters, as well as those who served during peacetime to defend and protect the citizens of the United States.
“This invitation also includes those who serve in the National Guard. If you know of any members of the military who attended our Catholic high schools, please inform the school, even if you only know their names. We will search our records to find additional information.”
