Sacred Heart To Offer Two Events During Fall Foliage Festival Weekend
Canadian—Sacred Heart Church parishioners will offer two events the weekend of Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18 in conjunction with the annual Fall Foliage Festival weekend.
Knights of Columbus Council #12394 at Sacred Heart Church are sponsoring its fourth annual 5-K Run and one-mile walk Oct. 17. Registration will begin at 9:30am, with the event beginning at 10:30, according to spokesperson Les Gullett. Runners will meet at the north end of the Canadian River Bridge on Highway 83, and the race will start on the historic Wagon Bridge and continue along a tree-lined course.

On Oct. 18, Sacred Heart Church will host a Mexican Pile-On lunch, beginning at 11:00am at Canadian Elementary School, 500 Dogwood St., in conjunction with the Fall Foliage Craft Show.Cost of the lunch is $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children 12 and older. Children under two eat free.
“We invite everyone to join us the weekend of Oct. 17 and 18 in Canadian,” said Gullett. “Masses are at 5:00pm Oct. 17 and 11:00am on Oct. 18. Our beautiful 1914 church sits at the corner of Eighth and Kingman. Come and enjoy the foliage, craft show, Lake Marvin and downtown Canadian.”
