“Faith depends on hearing and hearing by the word of Christ; and, in turn, preaching depends on the word of Christ.”
(Romans 10:17)
Amarillo—St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 4100 South Coulter will host the Vatican International Exhibition of the Eucharistic Miracles Friday, March 4 through Sunday, March 6 in Monsignor Tash Hall.
“Throughout the history of the Catholic Church, there have been numerous Eucharistic miracles that have been approved as truly worthy of belief,” said parishioner Madonna Hogue. “The Vatican Eucharistic Miracles Photographic Exhibition recounts for us many well documented miraculous occurrences. Knowledge of these miracles strengthens our faith in Christ and His Church. They are visible proof of Jesus Christ's Presence in the Holy Eucharist.”
Antonio Salzano Acutis from the Pontifical Academy Cultorum Martyrum compiled and produced the exhibition. Monsignor Raffaello Martinelli, Head of the Catechism of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, is the promoter of the exhibition.
“Eucharistic Miracles however, can be useful and fruitful aids to our Faith in that they help us go beyond the visable and perceptible and admit the existence of something beyond,” said Monsignor Martinelli. “Precisely because it is recognized as an extraordinary happening, a Eucharistic miracle has no explanation in scientific facts and reasoning. It goes beyond human reason and challenges a person to ‘go beyond’ the perceptile, the visible, and the human—that is to admit that there is something incomprehensible, something unexplanable by human reason alone, something that cannot be scientifically demonstrated.”
The exhibition will be open March 4 from 9:00am to 8:30pm; on March 5 from 1:00pm to 7:30pm; and, on Sunday, March 6 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The exhibition is free to the public and donations will be graciously accepted. A limited number of books relating to the exhibition will be available for purchase.
