Andres “Andy” Gonzalez of St. Laurence Church was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Bishop Patrick J. Zurek during a Mass Sept. 30 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Deacon Gonzalez was the 16th man ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Bishop Zurek for the Diocese of Amarillo this year. On June 4, also at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Bishop Zurek ordained 15 to the Permanent Diaconate:
The Development and Stewardship Office of the Diocese of Amarillo is encouraging all diocesan entities and Catholic businesses to purchase religious calendars from the Catholic Church Extension Society for 2012. “Every year, supporters of the Catholic Church Extension Society Parish Calendar provide funds to mission dioceses in under-resourced and isolated communities all across America,” said Extension president Father Jack Wall.
The Diocese of Amarillo will begin a new section on our web site. We will FLASHBACK to our history and remember some of the great times, photos, and stories in our diocese. It started with inspiration from Mass on a Sunday morning. Which led to a sketch. That led to a bowling alley conversation. That finished with a Cross that is the centerpiece of the fall season for RENEW at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
