Professing belief in the resurrection of the dead and affirming that the human body is an essential part of a person's identity, the Catholic Church insists that the bodies of the deceased be treated with respect and laid to rest in a consecrated place.

A Retrouvaille Weekend will be offered in the Diocese of Amarillo Friday, Jan. 6 through Sunday, Jan. 8 at the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center, 2100 North Spring.

The annual 40 Days, 40 Churches observation in the Diocese of Amarillo will conclude on Wednesday, Nov. 2, according to Stephanie Frausto, director of the diocesan Office of Family Life.
