Training Preparation
Before you begin this workshop, you might want to ask other youth leaders to take the training as a team. Some of the tasks are easier done as a team especially the Comprehensive Youth Ministry Grid at the end of the training. Also download all the documents needed for the training under the download link on this page.

- First pre-task - Sometimes we get too involved in parish ministries because we love God so much that we want to make sure that everything needed to happen, happens. Sometimes it's because we don't know how to say "no" to our priest or ministry leader. The word no is as HOLY as a yes! "Let your 'Yes' mean 'Yes,' and your 'No' mean 'No.' Anything more is from the evil one." Matthew 5:37
  
  List all the ministries in the box below and number them according to your top favorite to serve in your parish. Top favorite as what the Lord has called you to serve. (Youth Minister, Core Member/Catechist, Lector, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, Usher, Choir, etc.) "Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord." Romans 12:11

  This is better done as a parish group but can be done by yourself. You will also need this information for the assignment task at the end of the training.
  
  Write down all the parish programs and activities already being provided by your parish for the youth of the parish. You will need the name of the activity, date and time, if so desire, a short description will be helpful.
  Examples:
  Youth Group - Wed. at 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  Quinceanera Group - Sat. at 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  Evangelization Team - Th. at 8:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.
  Annual Retreat - October Saturday all day long
  Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference (DCYC) - April 3 day Conference
