"In 2014, more than 42,000 Americans took their own lives. Suicide is a serious public health problem that affects people of all ages. It is the the tenth laeding cause of death for Americans. The top three methods used in suicides include firearms (49.9%), suffocate (26.7%), and poisining (15.9%). Many more people survide suicide attempts than actually die. In 2014, nearly half a million people (469,096) recieved medical care for self-inflicted injuries at emergency departments accros the United States. More than one million adults self-reported a suicide attempt, and 9.4 million adults self-reported serious thoughts of suicide."
